21-Day Super Healthy Kickstart PCRM

21-Day Vegan Kickstart / a Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) site:

A Message from Brendan Brazier

Brendan Brazierleft quoteAt 15, I decided I wanted to be an Ironman triathlete. This led me to look at the importance of a plant-based diet for athletes. Many people associate the word “diet” with a restrictive way of eating. It doesn’t have to be. A vegan diet is one of inclusion, not exclusion. When you include only healthy plant-based foods in your diet, you’ll find there won’t be room left for the unhealthy ones. Considering what you are gaining, taking this time to transition is a positive investment. The payback is higher-quality living—and possibly winning Ironman triathlons, like I have.right quote

A Message from John Salley

John Salleyleft quote

As a four-time NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons, the Chicago Bulls, and the Los Angeles Lakers, I know a thing or two about staying on top of my game. For me, that means embracing a true vegetarian diet (no dairy, no egg products) to keep my body energized and healthy. Succeeding as a champion in the game of life takes plenty of nutritious fuel for the mind and body. Grab this opportunity with both hands-your health and happiness depends on it.right quote

The 3rd Annual Vegan Month of Food (aka VeganMoFo) prepares to take the blogosphere by storm. Starting October 1st, over 320 Vegan bloggers from all around the globe will pledge to post at least five days a week for the whole month of October. The most dedicated participants try to blog all 31 days. Food writers, bloggers, and home cooks will write about what they eat, where they have eaten, what they cook, and where they are doing the cooking, all with the intention of showing off the wide and varied world of Vegan food and lifestyle.

VeganMoFo kicks off on October 1st and continues through the month of October. You can find the alphabetized list of all participating blogs online at Cake Maker to the Stars (http://kitteekake.blogspot.com). There you can also find a link to the public RSS feed, where anyone can browse the latest posts from all the participating blogs in one place! (http://kitteekake.blogspot.com/2009/09/vegan-mofo-iii-public-feed-info.html)

First organized by Vegan chef and cookbook author Isa Chandra Moskowitz (theppk.com), Vegan MoFo has been gathering more and more enthusiasts each year. Participants begin brainstorming themes for their month-of-daily-entries with great enthusiasm. In previous years, bloggers have written about everything from Veganizing recipes to eating in foreign countries, to 31 days of Vegan Halloween-themed treats, to local restaurants, and to reviewing Vegan products. Posts include beautiful photographs, tantalizing recipes, and thoughtful musings.
